The DUAT stone is an artifact that was recovered by Dr. Carter Jones in the Valley of Kings in 1945. When powered, it allows Major Oh Rus to travel via a portal between the real world and that of the souls awaiting judgement in the 'death plane' (an underrealm of sorts).
